Welcome to my studio.

I am Dirk Schmidt. I was born in 1980 in Hamburg, Germany. I am an artist, designer and animator based in Munich, Germany. I started drawing at an early age and won my first art prize in primary school. I graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in 2005.

Since then I have been working as a professional illustrator and designer. I have created thousands of illustrations for magazines, book covers and newspapers.

My work appears weekly in magazines and newspapers in Germany. I also work for clients in France, the UK, Italy and Switzerland. I make my own children's books for which my mother writes the stories.

I enjoy drawing people and finding humor in everyday experiences. I think a lot about color and I always try to minimize my line art.
